Well, I am no expert but I think that the plant I've thought of as a Gardenia all these years is actually a CAMELIA. Why did I think it was Gardenia? Because the fool I bought the house from told me he planted it and it was a Gardenia...and as they look somewhat similar, I never bothered really researching it. But this Pink Gardenia thing has been confusing me for a few years now (they don't exist, to my knowledge...but it appeared I had a mutant)...after doing some research today I think I actually have white Camelias that for some unknown reason decided to start spouting out a few bright pink ones over the past few years. I have a picture on the post below...if anyone wants to confirm that this is a camelia (or a gardenia) I'd love to have some other opinions.
What would cause a white camelia plant to have the occasional pink flower??

Hi Dena! Sorry I haven't been to your blog in quite some time....personal problems. But I was reading tonight about your Camelia. They would most definately appear a different color at times because they have a high probability to mutate. Not sure why other than it's what Mother Earth wanted.....a surprise with each bloom.
Hope you are doing well. I've missed your poetry and photos.
Lori
Thanks, Lori...the camelia amazes me, lol. I'm doing all right, very busy with work and we've been sick off and on all year. I haven't had much time for writing poetry or taking photos but hope to get everything organized and flowing more smoothly soon. I hope you are doing better. Thanks for stopping in! Dena
